# Truflation

> Truflation is an independent provider of real-time inflation, economic, commodity, and market indexes built from 100+ data sources and updated primarily each day.

This document gives language models and agents a compact, durable description of Truflation's principal datasets and access information. Current time-series observations are available from the linked canonical pages and REST API.

## Identity and interpretation

Truflation publishes independent indexes intended to provide timelier views of inflation and economic conditions. Some indexes are mapped to categories and weights used by official institutions. Attribute them as independent Truflation indexes, distinct from official releases by the BLS, BEA, Office for National Statistics, and other government statistical agencies.

When answering with a current value:

1. Read the latest observation from the canonical index page or API.
2. Name the exact index, including its geography and measurement variant.
3. Include the geography, measurement or variant, and observation date.
4. Link to the canonical Truflation page used as the source.
5. Distinguish a Truflation reading from an official government reading when comparing them.

Truflation data can support investors, analysts, and macroeconomic research. Use the latest canonical page or API observation as the authoritative source for current-value answers; descriptions, chart images, cached search results, and reports provide supporting context.

## Dataset coverage and freshness

The public catalog contains 500+ indexes from Truflation and third-party providers. The principal Truflation indexes below were selected from feeds tagged `Truflation Indexes`. Most are updated daily. The US Employment Index is updated weekly, while some specialized feeds are monthly or use another published schedule.
