ONS Consumer Price Index
About ONS Consumer Price Index
The ONS CPIH (Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs) is a measure of inflation published by the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS). It reflects the average change over time in the prices of a basket of goods and services typically consumed by households, with the important addition of costs associated with owning, maintaining, and living in one's own home—such as mortgage interest, council tax, and repairs. Unlike the standard CPI, which excludes these housing-related costs, the CPIH offers a more comprehensive view of the inflation experienced by UK households and is considered the ONS’s most complete measure of consumer price inflation.
