Total Nonfarm Payroll
Total Nonfarm Payroll measures the number of U.S. workers in the economy, excluding proprietors, private household employees, unpaid volunteers, farm workers, and the unincorporated self-employed. It represents about 80 percent of the workforce contributing to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
